Wow! Time sure is flying by! The last time I posted I had just made it to the halfway point. And that was 8 weeks ago! And let me tell you...that was a fast 8 weeks! So much has happened since then that I wish I was more disciplined and had blogged a little sooner. But oh well...too busy having fun! So here are some highlights from the last 8 weeks. There are 8 of them...so think of it as one for each week, only they don't exactly follow that schedule :).
1)
Our 20 week doctors appt/ultrasound
The appointment went very well, and we got to see Mia Claire again, which was great! Boy had she grown in those short 5 weeks since we had seen her at the gender check! Everything was growing fine and she was right on track with her due date.
Our big girl :)
Look at those hands!
And feet!!!
2) Pregnancy Growth Group "Baby Shower"
I have been having so much fun this semester with my MyChurch pregnancy growth group called Preggie Peeps! It has been so nice to meet these new friends who are all in the same stage of life I am in. What's even better is meeting their babies now! On March 20th, we gathered at Red Robin where one of our peeps, Mandy's, brother worked. He was so nice to have a special area set up for us complete with decorations and a cake! This shower had no presents, but we definitely felt showered and important!! What a special treat!
All of my Preggie Peeps- (starting bottom left moving clockwise) Mandy, Brooke, Tricia, Dawn Marie, Jenna, Paula, Cystie, and me
3) Mia's "first" Disney Trip
Even though she was safe in my belly and not able to hug the characters, Mia still was in Disney World at the end of March this year, while I was almost 22 weeks. We had a blast. Not going to lie though, this little booger made me TIRED! Nonetheless, it was a super fun trip where we saw the Braves play a spring training game, and even bought her a little prize to love on when she gets here ;)
At Champion Stadium- Disney's Wide World of Sports
Tree of Life- Disney's Animal Kingdom- Our first time here!
Meeting Daisy at Epcot!
Mia's "First Minnie" that we got her in Hollywood Studios- She has a paci and plays a lullaby :)
4) Nursery Progress
Slowly but surely this baby's room will come together! It started really fast, then around the beginning of April we started to stall. The great news is though, is that our glider/ottoman came in on April 5th! I can't wait to rock her in this chair! Just before that on the 26th of March, Nana, Papa, and Sam came over with the new bedding as well! It was a fun week adding some major elements to her nursery!
Mia's Papa, very excited to hoist in the new mattress!
Nana and Aunt Sammie helped me :)
So beautiful!
The perfect finished product!
22 weeks pregnant
5) 24 week doctors appointment
April 12th we headed to see Dr. Stewart for our 24 week appt. We were once again happy to hear that everything looked great, and that I was measuring right on track for my due date.
6) Feeling crafty again!
After blog stalking for a bit, I found this great site with a how-to for making tag blankets! I could't help myself! After attacking the bolt of minky dot fabric at Hobby Lobby and adding a little bit more ribbon to my stash, I am proud to say that I was able to make my sweet baby girl her first! Thanks to my friend, Heather Hudson, who stitched Mia's first ever monogram :)
LOVE the fabric on the back side!
7) New Literature!
After many recommendations, I can't wait to dive into this awesome resource! Thankful for friends who have found successful sources that they can pass along! So at 26 weeks, I started my crash course on becoming Baby Wise!
8) New land and a 27 week 4D Ultrasound!!
What a fun day! Words can not express the excitement that Justin and I have had in us all day! April 27, 2012...a day filled with monumental changes for us and our growing family! It started with a closing at the bank...where we made official the purchase of the lot where we will build our future home! How long we have waited for this day! It just seems to funny doing it now, when we have a baby on the way, and knowing for sure that her first memories of her first home won't be where we are living now, but on this new land in our house that we will build when she is about 2...on Mountain Laurel Ct. in Creekrise! I just feel so overwhelmed and blessed!
Daddy, Mommy, and Mia (27 weeks) in front of our "woods" that will soon be our new home! :)
What would have made such an amazing morning even better, you wonder? Getting to see this face for the first time!
Oh how we waited to catch a glimpse of what she might look like, and for now, her Daddy thinks she looks like me! Ha! I can't really see it yet, but oh how exciting it was to see her filled out and looking like a baby!!! One more of my favorites from the session was this one....
That sweet little hand single handedly MADE MY DAY! :) I like to think she was waving at us. :)
I am just so alive tonight with JOY at what the Lord has given us! Leaving the BBQ restaurant tonight, Justin said how crazy and amazing it was at all the wonderful blessings that we have in our life. He was speaking specifically on the day in regards to purchasing the land and especially about getting to see our sweet girl's face, happy and healthy and growing just like she is supposed to be. Another to add to the list...
we celebrate 7 wonderful years of marriage together in just 3 days. :)
My mind boggles at all the wonderful changes we are seeing, but couldn't imagine it any other way now! We are so ready for Mia Claire to get here...Lord, sustain us until then! :)
Until next time...
